I was inspired by something many of us quietly forget to give ourselves — permission to pause. So many women carry so much each day. Dreams, work, families, responsibilities, and the invisible weight of trying to be everything for everyone. Life moves quickly, and it can feel like there is always one more thing to do before we can rest. When I painted this woman sitting at a bright beach café, I imagined her taking a small moment just for herself. The ocean nearby, the warmth of the sun on her skin, the sound of conversation and waves in the distance. Not rushing anywhere. Simply being present. Sunlight has always felt healing to me. A few quiet minutes outside can change the entire mood of a day. Natural light helps lift our spirits, supports our bodies in producing vitamin D, and even gentle sunlight in the eyes helps regulate our natural rhythms and sleep. It reminds us that we are part of the natural world, not just the busy schedules we keep. This print is a small reminder that slowing down is not a luxury — it is part of caring for ourselves. Sitting in the sunshine, enjoying your favourite drink, feeling the warmth of the day and letting your mind rest for a moment can restore energy in ways we often overlook.
